Crater Lake Academy is an Oregon public school, charted through Eagle Point School District 9.
CLA opened its doors to students in September 2014, quickly filling its seats with nearly 200 students attending through the 2014/2015 school year. For the 2015/2016 school year, CLA increased its enrollment cap to 250 students, with a further increase to the cap being set at 265 for the 2016/2017 school year. In 2017, Eagle Point School District 9 renewed CLA’s operating charter for an additional three years, increasing the student enrollment to 275 students in 2017 and 300 students in 2018. Additionally, EPSD9 renewed CLA for an additional five years in 2020, with a new student enrollment cap of 335 students.
As the student population has soared, CLA secured a new school site for the 2015/2016, doubling the instructional space for the school’s learning centers. In 2017, CLA purchased a new facility, again doubling the academic learning space for students. Through frugal budget management, the administration was able to purchase the new location and offer students one of the nicest charter school facilities in the region.
