Scholar Spotlight - Ethyn is a Junior at CLA and he is defining his (+). He is a member of the Pathways Academy and has been dually enrolled at Rogue Community College since last year. Ethyn is currently taking 14 college credits during Fall Term, in addition to his CLA courses, and working toward a degree in business. Ethyn is also a member of the National Honor Society and Leadership! Not only is Ethyn a model of academic excellence, but he is a leader amongst his peers and regularly invests in service to his community. CLA is proud of you, Ethyn!

Our friend and Community Partner, Dr. Joanna Carter from InSight Vision Therapy spoke to our scholars and CLA staff about her passion to help the eyes and brain work together. As an optometrist, she uses her practice to help those of all ages to better their vision.

Crater Lake Academy Middle Schoolers have been writing letters to Colleges/Universities and are starting to receive items in the mail!
Learning With Authentic Engagement ~ At CLA HS, Ms. Trautman and Mr. Harrington led 10th grade scholars in conversations about career exploration with Lines of Communication.
Our CLA Fall Festival was a blast! Thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy the fun. We had a fantastic turnout with 453 attendees! The night was filled with food, games, and dancing.
The CLA Guitar/Orchestra club is up and going with Mr. Harrington. We are excited to see this group perform at our Winter Program.
Staff Spotlight - Renee Breiholz is CLA's fantastic Kindergarten teacher. If one gets the chance to chat with her, they will quickly find out she is a sweet soul inside and out! Her passion for our youngest learners is clearly visible each and every day. At this time of the year, Renee can be found wearing a mustache or disco ball headband alongside her kindergartners as they begin the year with "ABC Bootcamp". We are proud to serve scholars alongside Mrs. B and are so thankful to have her on the CLA team!

Our CLA 2nd and 3rd grade classes traveled to the Oregon Caves last week. Scholars learned about stalactites and stalagmites as they adventured underground!
Mrs. Curry's World Studies class applied what they had learned within World Studies using WICOR and discussion techniques. It's fun to see scholars engaged and sharing their ideas.
